Last Weekend was spent at a fabulous Folk Festival in Brampton, Cumbria. We took the Bell tent along which was fantastically roomy, comfortable and atmospheric. Pity it wasn't warm, or dry outside, but that didn't matter because we had good company with our friends the Bedingfields camped along a bit. The organisers managed a great festival too and I'm planning returning next year.
Although we didn't go to every show or time slot we still had a good taste of the event. The highlights for me were:
Bella Hardy's incredibly spare and haunting songs.
Cloudstreet's close harmonies.
Some great young talent in Last Orders.
Bellowhead's lively and slightly strange set.
Maddy Prior for a display of utter professionalism and lovely singing.
